Heritage, Design & Access Statements
Planning applications, listed building consents or scheduled monument consents are most likely to be successful if the proposed changes are explained against a background of understanding the heritage interest of a site or place and explaining how it has affected your proposals. Through carrying out statements of significance, we set out what is important about an historic place and use this to offer inspiration, references and cues to help make sure that any new development or alterations reflect the historic character of a place. This can then be used to convey to planning authorities or heritage agencies that you have understood and respected the heritage interest of your property and that proposed changes will conserve or enhance significance.
